This is an all-time favourite soup that has featured on my HomeCooks menu for over two years. It's a well-loved family soup and I have often had people emailing me asking for the recipe after they have ordered! It is a mildly chunky soup with a sweet and salty favour with roasted chicken stirred through. Please note the soup will not be served with croutons as pictured as I would like it to remain gluten-free. However, feel free to add your own crumbled toast to top it off!

Onions, potato, cornflour, sweet corn, chicken stock ( which includes celery) and chicken, salt and pepper

Heating Instructions

As our food is hand-made by our chefs, these reheating instructions are a guide. Check your food is piping hot throughout before serving.

❄️ FROM CHILLED

MICROWAVE: Remove lid and place loosely on the container. Place on a microwaveable plate and heat on full power for 3-4 minutes, stirring half way through. After heating, stir and stand for 2 minutes before serving.

HOB: Cook until heated through, do not bring up to boil. Leave to stand for 1 minute before eating.

MICROWAVE: Remove lid and place loosely on the container. Place on a microwaveable plate and heat on full power for 6-7 minutes, stirring half way through. After heating, stir and stand for 2 minutes before serving.

HOB: Defrost before reheating.

Meet Lisa

My Mum was an amazing chef and taught me how to cook. My food story began when I was a songwriter, our studios were in a remote part of Kent with nowhere to buy food so I cooked for everyone. After 20 years of writing pop songs I decided I wanted a career in food and I was offered a chef role at Jamie Oliver's cook school but decided to set up my own at home. My business grew into recipe developing and writing articles for local London newspapers.

Never fail to enjoy this soup. Perfect balance of tender chicken and sweetcorn. Lovely flavours. Always a favourite.

Chicken & sweetcorn soup is my all time favourite soup, and this version is even better than I could have ever imagined. There are plenty of good sized pieces of chicken, and the soup isn’t watery like some other soups you can buy. I’d eat this every day, if I had the chance! 10/10.

Has the recipe changed?

Oh no! What’s happened!? So disappointed :-( Has the recipe changed? The taste is the same but the texture is now a thin watery soup. Maybe it’s a one off, a rogue batch? Coincidentally the texture has changed since the introduction of the smaller sized soup pots. It’s a real shame if this is the new recipe going forward. It was a firm favourite on my HomeCooks order but this version is just not for me.
