OVEN: Preheat oven to 160°C (Gas Mark 5). Remove any outer packaging, place the tray in the oven and bake for 30-35 mins at 160°C until piping hot and golden brown.

C. Lidgate

Lidgates Butchers has been in operation since 1850 and our family have always sold pies in the shop. We use recipes that have been passed down over the decades, refining them here and there as tastes have changed but our core principles have always remained the same: the best quality ingredients treated with care and attention will produce excellent pies.

One of my favs

This pie is outstanding. The pastry is so perfect, it's very high quality. The sauce is creamy and flavourful. Chicken is lovely quality, soft and well cooked and plenty of it.
It's a good size and probably by half way though I am full enough but I always devour the whole thing because its so damn tasty.

Still a big hit,

Staple for many weeks and as packed full of delicious filling and surrounded by incredible pastry as the first time we bought it.

The pastry left a lot to be desired. The lamb was not consistent and some of it was tough
